3.3.5.3 Evaporative Condensers

In evaporative condensers, water is circulated from the pond to the top to the tower and returned via a spray system over the heat exchanger within the tower.

In these cases, samples may only be collected from the pond at the point furthest removed from the cold water inlet or the bleed valve located at the outlet of the spray-pump.

  • The bleed valve should be disinfected before sampling.

In other respects, the procedures described in section 3.3.5.2 should be followed.
